Leonardo I shuttle back
DC
First, I apologize for the delay in this public action sent to the editors of Frenitalia. After all, traveling too often (too) by train, I could not be late.
Second, here is another entry from the rails (also in memory of the magazine and dignity of the old station):
Dear drafting Frenitalia,
disservice and would like to signal a further mockery of our beloved Railways .
luckily for me I would start by saying that I do not live in Italy and if occasionally I hardly ever have to deal with transport Italian. Like thousands of travelers each year, but I find myself using the Leonardo Express shuttle bus that connects directly to the Termini station in Rome Fiumicino Leonardo Da Vinci. For the departure and the arrival of the shuttle Trenitalia has seen fit to devote two-track station Termini. These tracks have a small defect of being in the most remote and poorly connected to the station ... In short the top for those arriving or departing with luggage etc (the norm for those who take a plane?).
The distance from the main station to the platforms in question is truly remarkable, so much so that even if ever measured in a scientific way, I can say without a shadow of doubt that no less than 7 minutes on foot are required to cover the route input / binaries. Terms
then has a host of ticket vending machines that serve as ... but even here in most cases or do not work or do not have enough money for the rest (not to mention the sport preferred by "smart" aggressive begging!).
But so far I could still be waived, thinking that in a country where little work was certainly not a primary objective of the "comfort" for passengers but the thing that I was literally shocked when I noticed a difference in prices for the same of the same shuttle train ticket!
Let me explain, if the ticket the shuttle is made through Ticket (automatic or not) the cost of this rises to about 8 / 9 € (remember a little 'confused ... sorry) but if that lack of time or another is made at a mini Ticket (stand) near the train by a miracle the price rises to € 11! The explanation? "Is a ticket for sale near the train" and therefore more expensive.
Clearly Trenitalia has seen fit to put the ticket (including all machines) in the entrance hall of the station and even a last track, distant memory, no less than 500 meters!
now calculated that most people buy a ticket at this stand point of having to do most of the time a row ... the calculation is easily done. Tranitalia RUBA 3 € for every traveler.
Finally, as icing on the cake, I wanted to point out that to reach the airport, there are only two trains, said the Leonardo Express train and a second "internal". Well I do not believe it but with the first train journey time is 30 minutes at a cost of 8 (Read 11) € for the second dealing with the same distance 24 minutes and 5 euro!
trains will certainly be different, with different comfort etc etc ... Well in theory, in practice NO. Although structurally diverse possess both trains (in my opinion / ed) the same standard of comfort! Indeed while the former more often than not is full and you are forced to travel by foot, in the second it is easy to find a place as this is the famous double-decker trains used to transport the "metropolitan".
Now both yes and no price to travel 30 km seem really excessive, given that here in Belgium for the same service (4 times better) and the same mileage (about) the SNCB (the Belgian Trenitalia) just asking € 2.80! Among other things, the two Italian trains are not usable by people with disabilities or similar ... while the one used in Belgium!
... then just one final treat for the conclusion. On the back of the ticket of the second train, there are the usual WARNING in Italian ... in English and you say, well, there is no option as the only German! The first ticket but even that ... Great for a service intended for an international airport!
Well, congratulations again Trenitalia!
Sincerely
DC
ps: I attach no 2 photos of the tickets in question
ps2: checking on the Trenitalia website I noticed that tickets for the Leonardo Express has been increased to 11 euro as their standard rate. Imagine a family of 4 .... 44 € just to catch a train that will run it and not a few tens of km .
